In 2002, We launched a pioneering tourist guide website dedicated to Kumbakonam and its surroundings. This platform offered essential information on Temples, Jain temples, Churches, Mosques, Arts and crafts, Books, Maps, Weather, Trains, and Emergency services. It’s essential to remember that this was before the era of smartphones, GPS, and Just Dial. In addition, we ran a hotline to help tourists, and HR&CE government officials also make use of it.

As locals deeply connected to the rich heritage of the region, we possessed extensive knowledge about the temples, contributing significantly to Kumbakonam’s reputation as one of the cultural capitals, especially during the Chola dynasty’s reign. We provided our services free of charge, prioritizing the safety and well-being of our visitors. We offered guidance for temple visits and parigaram (rituals for remediation) and have assisted thousands of visitors from countries such as Malaysia, Canada, Hong Kong, and the United States.

 

In recognition of our dedication and valuable service, we were honored with the  Golden Web Award 2003–2004. This website served as an important resource for connecting visitors to Kumbakonam’s rich cultural heritage and spiritual significance.
